"In this clip, I'm going to show you how to open and safe the action, of an H & K USP Compact 40. The H & K that I have here, is actually considered to be opened and safe. The way that you do this, is you'd take the magazine out of the firearm, and let's just pretend like it's already loaded. When you approach the firearm, you'll take the firearm, and the first thing you'll do, is you'll push down on the magazine release, which is right here. You push that down, taking the magazine out of the firearm, and then, you'll take the firearm, and pull back on the slide, and push up on the slide stop. At that point, you'll make a visual, and physical inspection. If you look a little closer here, you'll see that you're making a visual and physical inspection of the chamber, making sure and ensuring, that no round is in the action. At that point, with the magazine out of the firearm, the slide all the way back, on the frame. You're going to set it down in a safe direction, and at that point, you'll know that the firearm, the HK USP Compact 40, is opened and safed."
