"One of the best things to use for braiding, are these tail combs. I have three right here and they're just a little bit different from each other. This first one, has a really thick tail. For some rat tail combs, some tail combs just have a very thin piece of metal. I really don't like those. It's very easy to scratch a scalp with them. This has a nice rounded edge that I like to use and it's not too fine. And, the teeth are just a little bit thicker as well. This helps separate the hair a little bit easier than some of the finer tooth combs. And, because they're thick they're just a little bit sturdier than you might find in a smaller one. These are a little bit thinner, as you can see from the profile. It does not take up as much space. The teeth are finer and they bend a little bit. This can be good sometimes, if you have a lot of tangles you're working with. You don't have to worry about a brittle comb breaking. This has some bend to it. But, I do prefer a thicker comb. Just so when I have a grip on it, it works better for me and I'm not trying to grip too hard. And, I can keep my hands relaxed. It's very easy to over work your hands when you're braiding hair. But, these work great for parting the hair and for combing it. Just one combination tool that you can just keep in your hand to part and to comb. And, just really work your way quickly down the head."
