"Many people that have allergies have an allergy to dust mites. Dust mites live all over your home. They live in your carpet, they live in your bedding, they live in your mattress, they live in your pillows. So you pretty much can find them all over the place. And not only are there dust mites, there's also their fickle matter and when they die, the dead dust mites are there as well. Sounds disgusting but here are some ways that you can help dust mite proof your home, especially the bedroom where you spend a lot of your time. One thing that I make sure I do every week is to wash my bedding in our bedrooms. You would be amazed at how many dust mites can accumulate over the course of a week. So what I do is take the bedding off including the top coverlet or cover that you have, and I wash it in hot water, once a week, and I also make sure that I put some vinegar in the rinse cycle because like I said before, it takes the residue of the detergent out, and it softens your clothes. It acts as a fabric softener as well. You wouldn't think about it, and many people have had the same pillow for years and years, but it's very important to make sure that you wash your pillows each week. I know that I had a pillow for the longest time and didn't even think about washing it, and my allergies are usually really bad by the time I woke up in the morning. I discovered that there's a possibility that it's from my pillow. Washing your pillow in hot water makes a really big difference. They now have pillows that are made that completely detract dust mites. Dust mites are not even able to penetrate the pillow for those people that are extremely allergic to dust mites. So throw this in once a week, make sure that you wash it in hot water and dust mites would be gone."
