Video Transcript

"In this clip, we're going to talk about the proper service procedure for removing and reinstalling a motor mount. In this step, we're going to talk about the tools required in order to remove and replace a motor mount. What I have in front of me here is my standard metric socket set. Magnetic tray, a block of wood and my heavy duty floor jack. A block of wood may seem like a little bit of an unusual tool for a mechanic, but what we're going to do with it is set it on top of our floor jack as a cushioning device. When you remove the engine mount, the engine is going to drop extremely suddenly and possibly damage some other connectors or hoses or parts of the engine. So what we'll do is slide the floor jack with the block of wood, our cushioning device, underneath the engine and jack it up for some support holding it in place while we service our engine mounts. These are the tools required in order to properly remove and reinstall a motor mount."
