How to Play Men's Lacrosse

"The game of lacrosse is played with ten players on each side with three mid-fielders, three attack men and three defensive players and a goalie. The face off is the beginning of the game where the two players get on the ground, match sticks and fight for the ball. When setting up for the face off... so there's two different types of grips you can use. This is your standard traditional grip and now what some people have been using is what they call a motorcycle grip. I like to use the standard regular grip. So when you get down, the official will say, "Get down. Come together." And then will call the face off. Once you're down, you are not... your head and your shoulders are not allowed to come over the ball. So when you're down, your hands have to be on the ground and your head cannot be over the ball. You have to just keep yourself right on the balls of your feet, so that when the official blows the whistle you clamp and you scrap the ball away and then you get the ground ball. The winner of the face off then proceeds down into the other teams defensive zone and begins to move the ball around, run plays and get their opportunities to shoot on the goal and score. Once a shot's taken and the goalie stops the ball, then that defense will then try to get the ball to their offense, moving it from one side of the field to the opposite end of the field where they will try to shoot on the other goalie and score goals. Alright now we're going to show you some of the equipment that's used in the game of lacrosse, the Rhine Triumph that we talked about earlier with all the adjustablility in the back. These are some warrior shoulder pads. They come with a nice hard plastic cup on the shoulder just to prevent and sort of collar bone or shoulder injuries. Then with the arm... this is called an arm guard. It's got some motion to it. It's got a nice plastic cap on there. Just to prevent any sort of elbow injuries. And then the gloves... this is just your standard lacrosse glove, really well padded, will protect most of your wrist and all your fingers, really thick padding. And then here is just your standard mid-field attack lacrosse stick with hard mesh, nice head. There you go."
