"To become a professional lacrosse player, you have to have some very particular qualities. You need to be very driven. You need to have a lot of, you know, fire behind you to work as hard as you can to make your game as good as it can possibly be. It's also really good... if you don't have a strong off hand, you don't really stand much of a chance. You have to be able to play with both hands really well. You have to be in really good shape. You have to just be a well rounded lacrosse player. You have to be smart on the field. You can't go out there expecting somebody else to do it for you. You have to be able to go in there and do it yourself if you need to. There's just... so much goes into being a professional lacrosse player in terms of training, physical strength, physical speed, just being able to go out there and work as hard as you can every time you get on the field is really what it requires to be a professional lacrosse player along with some talent, some athletic ability, those are the things you really require to get yourself to that kind of a level. An amateur lacrosse player is going to be on the field trying to do it all by himself. A professional lacrosse player going to be able to rely on the people around him, just because they're all a high caliber of a player. More of an amateur player is going to go in there with the mentality more that I'm going to do this all by myself because nobody else can help me. Professional lacrosse players are surrounded by other people equally as talented as they are. More of an amateur is going to be surrounded by people with less ability who's going to have to really be more of the team leader, really being there to do most of the work."
