"Hi, I'm Dr Marcia Martin and we're here at Safe Harbor Animal Rescue in Jupiter, Florida to talk a little bit about pet care. Today we're going to talk about what to feed an orphan kitten. Of course, mother's milk is the best, but if you have an orphan kitten and that's not available, if you can find a foster kitten often rescue groups can provide you with a foster mom for your kitten that would be an excellent choice. If that's not an option for you go to any pet store in town and there are at least five different types of kitten milk replacer made to feed kittens. Now it either comes already reconstituted in a little can or you can buy it as a powder and reconstitute it yourself with water, and then also get a little kitten nursing bottle, and that's the best way to feed a kitten if you're going to do it yourself. Don't try and feed cow's milk that'll result in diarrhea, kittens just aren't made to digest that type of milk. You can scoot by with some goat milk if you're lucky, but goat milk is often much more hard to find than kitten milk replacer, so I would just go to the local pet store and pick up a good kitten milk replacer made to feed kittens and a nursing bottle. That's the best way for you to feed an orphan cat."
