Hi, I'm Donna Barnes, life and relationship coach here in New York City, and the author of It's All About You. To romance your wife is a really great way to keep your marriage happy and on track. I think once you get married, it's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day, you know, way life goes, and if you have kids and all that kind of stuff. So you really need to make an effort. I think if you can do...first of all, have a date night. Make sure that no matter what's going on, you have at least one night a week that if you have kids, you get a babysitter and that you two go out just the two of you and, you know, not to a movie, but to dinner or something that you're just the two of you to talk and have ground rules around what you're allowed to talk about. No talking about work, no complaining about anything, no cell phone interruptions, and really just spend some time together and ask each other how they're feeling about things. And really, you know, connect that same connection you had. And I think if you remember things that she likes to do -- if you bring home little gifts for her occasionally, like if there's some special treat that you know she likes and you...you're on your way home and you see that, if you get that for her and just surprise her with things here and there. It'll really keep the romance going and it'll keep the relationship happy.
