"Ok so how do we define strategic management. Strategic management has a kind of a long explanation but a short version would really be looking at both the mission and the vision of a company. Looking at the basic maybe the higher purpose of the company that the things that they are trying to achieve. And this is usually something how, you know that something that will come down from either the owner of the company or the board of directors. That these are the things that we are doing. These are our, this is our mission. These are the things we are trying to accomplish as a company. And then those directives will be filtered down and it will be different strategies and so forth to implement those missions and visions of the company. So strategic management you are really looking at something other then the particular actions of you know how money is going to be spent. How you know the different divisions that will be formed for a company. Those are more of the details but really if you are looking at strategic management you are looking at the higher visions and missions that the company is after and if, maybe made a proposal on a higher end to really go after a particular segment of business. And their strategies and terms of how they are going to attack that. Then you'll start to break that those strategies down and you'll find more tactical moves that they need to work on and so forth. But the strategic management really if you think about the mission and the vision and the purpose of the company is in business for, that's your strategic management."
