"When I start designing a garment it usually starts with one inspiration. I think about what the particular piece is for if it is for a certain season, if it is for work, if it is for recreation and then actually for someone who wants to design clothes actually I would say the next step would be to look at the resources that you already have in place whether it be friends or a seamstress the material, all the resources that you would need. An execution plan is also a very important key step in designing a garment. Looking at all the resources you have the blank that you need to fill in and then of course following through on that and then the step that I think a lot of people leave out is wearing the garment and figuring out where it can be improved upon and if you have the resources to do it do it again. Do it a second time because when you do it the second time it is always better you realize little things that could have been done the first time, steps that you could have skipped altogether. The second garment is usually faster, cheaper and more enjoyable to make so that is my personal process as far as designing an individual garment."
