"Hi! I'm Donna Barnes, life and relationship coach here in New York City, and the author of "It's All About You." Benefits to on line dating are numerous, I mean the biggest one is that most people that put themselves out there on the Internet are available and wanting to find a relationship, and I think the biggest complain I hear from girls and guys is that, oh they maybe already in a relationship or they are already married, or whatever. Well, most of the people that are out there on line truly are single and available, so, that's a great thing. And secondly, I think that, you know, when you meet somebody in a bar you go only on attraction, and you really don't know much about that person, and then by the time you get to know that, you're already chemically connected and then you could be off and running with a not so great relationship, but before you even choose to meet somebody on line, you've looked at their profile, you've read a little bit about them, you've communicated with them through email or instant message and hopefully, spoke to them on the phone. So,by the time you meet in person, you should know that at least on paper you're compatible. So, that is just a matter of, are you attracted to each other or not. So, if you are attracted to each other, you have such a better chance of making that relationship work because you already found out that you are compatible and all the things that work. So, I think it's a great way to meet people, I think it really first opens up a whole new world of people that you probably wouldn't have met otherwise. I think you know, you can only go out so many nights and get involve so much but to really, it's like shopping, sit at your computer and have all these people available to you, and really take your time and read about each one, and get a sense of, is this person right for me, and you can be choosy because there's so many more people out there. In fact, the choosier you are the more likely your relationship is to be successful. So, you know, I think people tend to get less picky when they're just out because it's hard to meet somebody. Well, not on line and that's the really wonderful thing about meeting on line, and you can be safe about it, and you can expose yourself to a fine world."
