"Hey, this is Jet at Vampire Freaks in New York City. In this clip we're going to talk about the history of goth. Goth actually is form as a subset of punk; which a, it actually came out of punk and that it was more of like a darker, more brooding version of it and some of the first bands include bands like Sisters Of Mercy and Bauhaus and later on industrial kind of came as related to Goth where they had bands such as Skinny Puppy and the Cherub and later on they had EBM which include the bands such as Front 242 and Goth really started in like the late 70's or early 80's and it kind of just slowly mutated and now it's very much more kind of, more about the clubs and more about, more industrial electronic music; but there's also sort of the old school Goths who are still around which is more of the traditional Goth which is a, kind of called Gothic Death Rock now. Goth has become a real culture actually where it's not just about the music; it's also very much about the fashion and the way of thinking, the attitude and if you have people kind of their whole lives revolve around the culture now. They have huge festivals over in New York with like twenty thousand Goths all convene at once and it's become really huge from its early roots. And if you ever have families who are Goths and it's just, people are just really entrench into it until even like they're leader ages. There are misconceptions about Goths and people think that they're scary and criminals and frightening. But Goths are actually very friendly, very supportive and they're also very intelligent and there's really nothing to be scared of; they just look a little bit different; but they're very nice people. Thanks. This is Jet with Vampire Freaks and this was about the history of Goth."
