"Hi my name is Tanya Bats and I'm with Physique Designs. Today I'm going to talk about Pilates equipment. The main thing that you need for Pilates is a mat. One mat is great, but two mats are even better. Another thing that's great for Pilates, a little weighted ball just adds a little bit of resistance or a band is a great way to do Pilates, a ball will actually help enhance your Pilates core strength training. So what Pilates is is basically lengthening your muscles, it's going to make you long and lean and it's going to give you that strong abdominal strength. So you can use the band for the core, you can use it for the arm work and you're lengthening the muscles and that's really going to give you a little bit of extra resistance to tone those muscles. With the ball, another great thing you can do with a ball and you're on your mat, you can use that ball to add a little bit of resistance, get the obliques going, it's amazing. Another thing you can use the big ball. Great way if you've got kind of some little back issues, the ball feels great to do that core strength training and it's amazing, you're going to be long and lean in no time. And that's an overview of Pilates equipment."
