My name is Marc Owens, and I'm the customer experience manager here at the Best Buy in Pleasant Hill. With the onset of all these high def gaming devices, one of the questions that we're getting asked very frequently is how I can hook a PlayStation three to my VCR. In the box, the PlayStation three is going to have a cable that you're going to need to hook it up. It's going to have a proprietary end that looks like this, and it will have RCAs on the other end, which will be yellow, white and red. The yellow carries the video, and the red and the white carry the audio. Once you've find that cable, you want to take and hook the proprietary end into the AV output on the back of your PlayStation three. Several VCRs come with a very unique feature where they have inputs on the front. If you'd like to save yourself the time and effort of having to reconnect the cables, you can utilize these front inputs to hook your PlayStation three to. At that point you're going to want to match the yellow to the yellow, the white to the white, and the red to the red. After you've hooked these cables up, you're going to want to power on your PlayStation three, power on your VCR, power on your television set, and then select the input that your VCR is plugged into on the back of your television set. If I can make a recommendation, and you have a new high definition television set, and you're looking to get the full experience from your PlayStation three, you're going to want to utilize an HDMI cable. The benefit of this cable is it not only gives you the high quality high definition video, it also does digital output for audio, which is going to maximize your gaming experience. Instead of utilizing the RCAs, you would then find the HDMI port on the back of your PlayStation three, and plug one end of this cable in. And then find the HDMI port on the back of your television set, and plug the other end in. You'll notice better video and audio quality.
