My namer is Marc Owens, and I'm the customer experience manager here at Best Buy Pleasant Hill. One of the questions we're often getting now a days is how I connect my VCR to my new notebook computer. There are a couple of things you're going to want to make sure you have before you get started. And the first is your RCA cable, the next thing that you're going to need is a digital video capture device. So you are going to want to start out by hooking your RCA cables to the back of your VCR player. When looking at the back of your VCR to hook it up to your digital video capture device, you want to make sure that you identify which section of ports are outputs. Right here is going to give you an indication that this is audio and video out. After you have identified that, you are going to want to hook the yellow the yellow, the red to the red, and the white to the white. Once you've got your RCA cable connected to your VCR you are almost ready to go. You want to find your digital video capture device, and you want to match the colors up just the same. Now just a quick note, there are some digital video capture devices that do input and output, so you just want to make sure that you identify the inputs on your digital video capture device too. Once you've got your digital video capture device connected you want to be able to then find the USB port on the side of your computer. Now you want to be careful here, because you've got a couple of different options. You want to identify the port that says USB, and plugging it right in. Once you connect it up, you're going to want to then utilize the software that came with your digital video capture device to capture your video by pressing record. After you've started recording, you then have the option to either burn directly to DVD or edit and share your memories in any way you choose.
