"One of the most popular animation softwares available is Maya. If you want to be an animator using Maya, obviously, the best way to learn is to get the software. It is a very expensive software, but there is a student download for free that they offer. If you go to their website, you can download a student version of their software. It comes with digital training manuals, and you can learn the basics of it to become familiar with the tools. Obviously, it's a more limited version of the software, and there are watermarks on your animations so that you can't use it for professional purposes. And there are many, many online tutorials as well as many people who offer animation training online. One of the largest is Animation Mentor, and I believe the primary software they teach with is Maya. Most of the major art schools also use Maya as a...as a teaching tool. There's plenty of other animation software out there that has been developed at various price ranges -- some of it, I believe, you can even find for free."
