"Hello my name is Dr. Sian Evans. I am scientist at Monkey Jungle in Miami, Florida. In this clip we are going to talk about how to buy a monkey. In reality monkeys are not commercially traded very frequently these days. There are many international and national laws that regulate and in many cases prevent it. For example it is not possible for many private individuals in fact most private individuals to import monkeys from overseas. Most zoos acquire monkeys now on loan from other zoos. Monkeys breed in captivity and the offspring is sent to other zoos that would like to display monkeys for the public to appreciate and learn about. Occasionally primates may be bought and sold but the days of this happening are fading fast. This is Dr. Sian Evans."
