"Hi I'm Trina Sims of Green Star Herbs and I'm here to talk today about some herbal remedies for bursitis. Bursitis is the inflammation of the fluid filled sacs around the joints and it often is associated with tendinitis. A number of herbs can be helpful in relieving the pain and the inflammation associated with bursitis. Most of these can be used internally as well as topically. A few of these very effective anti inflammatory herbs are Boswellia which is also known as Indian Frankincense. It is a powerful anti inflammatory and seems to help promote lubrication of the joints and blood supply to the surrounding tissue. Ginger is another commonly known herb and a very strong anti inflammatory and pain reliever. It also promotes better circulation which will help with healing and lessening that inflammation. Another herb which is becoming more popular and more commonly known and used is tumeric. Again this is a powerful anti inflammatory. It can be added to food or it can be encapsulated and taken directly. We also have licorice, another powerful anti inflammatory and pain reliever. Cayenne pepper used both internally and as an ointment or a save is very effective against inflammation and pain although as a pain reliever it works best over time so you are not going to have your first strongest effect the very first time you use it. The more you use it the better effect you'll have. Also white willow bark can be made into a very effective tea. Some of its active constituents are related to aspirin although we don't see the same problems as we do with aspirin for aspirin sensitive people. Another possible helpful herb for cases of bursitis is artica montana, artica ointments, liniments, saves are all very effective used topically, use artica internally only as a homeopathic preparation which is a very very dilute form. I hope this information gives you some ideas of natural herbal ways to approach bursitis. Thank you."
