"Hi I'm Trina Sims of Green Star Herbs and I'm going to tell you about some of the uses for licorice root. Licorice root is one of the two most popularly used herbs in the entire world. And it's number one use worldwide is for coughs, colds and chest congestion. It also helps relieve the pain of a sore throat. It can also be used to help stop smoking, people chew on the root or take lozenges that contain licorice or some anti smoking syrups will contain licorice as one of the active constituents. It's a great non caloric sweetener, it's a good gentle laxative. It works well for skin problems including rashes, eczema and psoriasis and it's also seen as a general tonic. In terms of supporting good health and as a sexual tonic as well. Real licorice is available in a number of forms from whole dried root, to chopped root, powder which can be encapsulated or just added to various things. And it's a constituent in syrups, lozenges and some other confections. I hope this has given you some idea of the possible uses for licorice root. Thank you."
