Hi, my name is Charlotte Skikes. I'm a nutrition consultant and clinical herbalist with Eat in Peace Wellness Consulting located in Austin, Texas. And the topic today is natural ways to detox your body with lemon water. So, there's a couple of ways to do this. One of which is called a master cleanse, a program put together by Stanley Burrows. I recommend buying his book if you want all the details in the program. But the master cleanse involves a particular beverage and the use of vegetable broths to drink during a ten day cleansing a fasting process. So the particular beverage is water, lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. Very simple very easy to make. The maple syrup will provide a certain amount of energy and caloric intake to the body during this time. Cayenne pepper will increase metabolism and the warmth within the body which facilitates good circulation. It dilates the blood vessels so that cells can receive nutrition and excretes waste products. And then the lemon of course is the main ingredient and that just as a cleansing property to the body. You can smell it and you can taste it in lemon. It's just inherent to it's energetic qualities. That sour taste really nourishes the liver and the gall bladder in the body, getting the bile to flow appropriately and also making sure the stomach is acidic and really ready to digest food and also you know, proceeding with giving off an alkaline ash in terms of metabolism, meaning that it just alkalinizes the body which can be beneficial for some people who are overly acidic. So in terms of other natural lemon cleansing recipes, you know just adding lemon juice to warm water, drinking it first thing in the morning can be very beneficial to your health if it feels good to your body. So just listen to your body, try a couple of these things on and just experiment and see how life improves for you.
