My name Josie Minks and I'm a labor and delivery nurse in Austin, Texas and I'm here to talk about how to treat a headache during pregnancy. And often times, headaches are caused by dehydration so immediately drink one to two glasses of water. Other ways to treat a headache would be Tylenol. It's okay to take that during pregnancy. Talk to your doctor about the dosage. Usually six hundred and fifty milligrams is enough. And you can take that every four hours, however you don't want to be contentiously taking that so talk with your doctor about the dosage. Sleep, often times, headaches are caused by lack of sleep so take a nap, have a good night's rest. Maybe you can ask your partner or friend to massage. Massage your temples, your head, your shoulders, your back. Relieve some of that tension. You could put a cool cloth to your forehead and that relieves some of that tension. You can put your feet in a bath, in a warm tub, kind of helps to relax. These are ways to relieve a headache during pregnancy.
