My name is Helen Vella, Vella and Associates, Business consultant, Trainer and Author, and I'm here in this segment to talk to you about how to use sales promotions. Sales promotions are an excellent way to get extra business if that's what you're looking for, which, in today's economy, we're all looking for extra business. Now in retail, which uses this one a lot, is to use a percentage off the sales price, so you can reduce it by fifty percent, thirty percent, seventy percent, depending on what it is that you are offering and what you're selling. Another one is buy one get one fifty percent off, or buy one get one free. If you're doing a service, again, you can do twenty minutes or thirty minutes, or an hour segment for free provided they get a two hour extra one, or you can play around with it. Depends on what what you have have on your service. The other thing is if you're using a promotion of any description only use one at a time. Don't have several going at the same time. Have a good tracking system, because you need to know which one works the best for you. The one that you think might be working may not be the one that really is working, so have a good tracking system. The other thing to do is have it around different events, you know, Valentine's, Easter, any holiday that's in your area. Promotions at that time are really good. Plan them well ahead so that you can get your advertising out; that you can get your fliers out so that you can get the best from the promotion. And that's a little bit of how to use sale promotion techniques. My name is Helen Vella, Vella and Associates, Business Consultant and Trainer
