Hi this is Rachael Richardson with Nutrolution Incorporated in South Beach, Florida. In this clip we're talking about some diet tips for an under active thyroid. And so this is a topic that I've worked somewhat with and basically there's a couple of keys that anybody that tells me that they have hypothyroid or under active thyroid, I make sure of a few things to start off. Number one, make sure you eliminate any Splenda in your diet. Splenda is sucralose and there have been studies that have shown that it causes hypothyroidism. So people are starting to use Splenda to improve their weight so they're not eating sugar, but in the long run, the thyroid does control metabolism and weight loss so if your thyroid is under active then you start to slow down your metabolism so people gain weight long term. Other tips for promoting a healthier thyroid and getting rid of the hypothyroidism are including some omega 3 fatty acids, making sure that you're getting iodine in your diet through your sea vegetables and also just making sure you're really getting rid of that sucralose.
