"OK how do I invest in stocks during a recession? Well really if you're doing your due diligence and you're investing wisely and you're investing in a well diversified portfolio, investing during a recession is not going to be any different. And actually if it's a recessionary period what you may want to look at are things that have to do with regular usage. Recently people have invested in energy, raw materials, consumer goods, anything that will be consumed and is used even though the economy is in a recession there are still things that are moving. There are still items out there. Things to be aware of in a recession is that not to say that you shouldn't invest in some speculative items, but if you do understand that during a recession you may not see any growth so you are having to sit on those purchases. So during a recession, really bottom line no differently then your normal diligent investing."
