Hi, my name is Mark. And we're going to look at how you can start your own consulting business. The first question is, why do you want to start your own consulting business? Is it because you built an experience over the years. And you have a good reputation with your existing customers. Are you working for a company where you have a good reputation already, in other words. And is this easily transferable to working for yourself? Does it make more sense financially? Location wise, geographically. Is it better for you to do this? So again, you have answer this to yourself. And if you have the knowledge, expertise, know how. Then maybe this is enough and you want to consider. The big obviously, the big advantage of this is that you dictate your time, your hours. Where you work and who you work with. And this is obviously very important. You need to be looking at it again. What it is that you have is different to the competition. What is your unique selling point that you've got as a consultant. What experience, what understanding, what connections do you have? That maybe your competitor doesn't have. These are the issues you want to be looking at, building up. Can you hit the ground running? Can you start work and your own name? In a very short period of time. And will the people that you're hoping to work with. Want to work with you immediately. Because again, if you're working for yourself, then you're funding your own time. And this is what you need to consider. Consultant services now, more than ever before are required. Because people want individual focus. They want that special attention. And if you have knowledge and know how. And the understanding, how to sell yourself. And how to compete. Then it's something very, very useful and worth considering. So when starting your own business. The, apart from obviously the people that you already know and your existing contacts. You do need to get your name out to the market place. And obviously depending on the profession you're in. You need to register yourself with all the relevant agencies and bodies. To make sure that you're seen as a credible source. In this particular industry that you are linked and accredited to. All the various organizations and bodies. That your network, that you go out and you socialize with the people in these businesses. So they will know who you are. And know what you can do. You need to advertise and promote yourself. I would suggest that you have your own website. And that you have your own stationery, business cards, papers. In which to hand over to interested parties.
