"This is John Pinelli, financial representative, talking to you today about how to purchase AARP Life Insurance. AARP Life Insurance can be purchased by AARP members through the AARP website, aarp.org. Now members of the AARP can go to the website, purchase this life insurance, typically for a small amount between $2,000 to maybe $50,000 on a pre-approved basis. What the AARP says is that you can apply for this insurance easily no medical exams, and you are guaranteed coverage. Now this may not always be the case but generally speaking most people are able to obtain this coverage fairly easily. The coverage is offered through life insurance company, New York Life. They are the insurance company that sort of backs these products and offers them, and the AARP offers these products with a discount through New York Life. Now the intention of this life insurance is really only to cover final expenses and funerals for elderly people that may not have life insurance coverage so it is really only intended to provide a small amount of coverage so that if you were to pass your family is not burdened with these final expenses that you may have. Now the important thing to consider is when you go through the AARP to purchase life insurance you are really going to have to do a little bit of research. It is all up to you to determine exactly what kind of coverage you need and what kind of coverage that they offer. You will need to check the terms of the policy, see that it covers you for your entire life if you have the intention of paying these medical expenses because it may only cover you for a specified period of time so that may be something you want to look into further. Ultimately though when trying to obtain life insurance if you are looking for a significant amount above $50,000 you are going to want to talk to an agent to make sure that you are getting the right amount of coverage for the right period of time. The AARP, however, can be a great way to easily purchase life insurance for these specific final expenses and they can be purchased through their website, aarp.org. This has been John Pinelli, financial representative, talking to you today about how to purchase AARP Life Insurance."
