"Hi my name is Dave Andrews, today I'm going to show you how to transfer large files over the internet. Often times there comes a time when you want to transfer a very large image to another person on the internet. Email usually restricts the size of the attachments that you can attach to a two megabytes or some even go up to ten megabytes. So one thing you want to do to transfer large files is to use a FTP server. Let's go to the computer and I'll show you how to put a file on a FTP server. To upload a file to an FTP server, let's click on our start button, and go to computer. This opens up our computer browser. Now I happen to have an FTP server on my website, and there are many FTP servers that you can sign up for. It may cost a small monthly fee, and that will allow you to transfer files up to them, and then give out a user name and password to other people to where they can go and down load those files. So I'm going to connect now to my FTP server. When you try to connect, the way I did that by the way was type again FTP, and the name of my server which is www.daveandrews.org. Your FTP server will be different, they all have different addresses, but they usually have help files that tell you what to type in for the address. Now the first thing it ask me for here is my credentials, so I'm going to type in my user name and password. I basically just typed in my user name and password and clicked okay. And as you can see I didn't get any error message and it started listing the files and folders that I have on my FTP server. So to copy this large database file that I want to transfer to somebody else up to my FTP server, all I have to do is just drag and drop it on to FTP. I'm just going to hold my mouse over it, click on it, I'm going to drag it over here into the FTP window. And just drop it. Now that little that came up showed us that it copied that file up to my internet FTP site, and as you can see there is my large database. My name is Dave Andrews, and I've just showed you how to transfer large files over the internet."
