"Hi. I'm Amelia, and I'm here to talk to you about how to color your hair blond. If you are dark, like this manikin here, then you're going to have to use a lightener. If you're only going to a little bit lighter, like to this lighter brown, which isn't necessarily blond, but you can use a regular color. Don't expect to walk into the store, pick up a box look at it, and you know, be whatever color it is on the box. There are a lot of things to take into consideration, when coloring your hair blond. Also, blond is a very high maintenance color. You will get roots. Depending on how dark your hair is, but you will get new growth in, withing a couple of weeks. So, you will also have to be able to afford to maintain that look. If you're going very blond, that's something you're probably going to want to do in a salon. Because you're going to be able to maintain it better, plus your hair will be healthier. Bleach, or I should say lightener, is probably one of the best and easiest ways and most predictable way to get your hair to a pretty blond. If you use a lightener, depending on the level developer, twenty volume, not going to be too harsh. You start getting into the forty volume, that's going to be pretty harsh. That's going to get your hair really light. So, just be sure that you're very careful with the bleach, and this is probably going to be your best way to go blond, and also, to get those highlights exactly where you want them to go."
