"Hi. I'm Amelia and I'm here to talk to you about how to make some homemade treatments for shiner hair. Olive oil is going to be one of the best things you could use. The only thing is I wouldn't get the extra virgin, I would get just the light olive oil. It doesn't have as much as a fragrance. And then I would make sure to had some drops of either lavender oil or peppermint oil or something else to kind of change the smell so you don't walk around smelling like a salad. Another great thing to do for shine is apple cider vinegar. You would use 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar to one gallon of distilled water. You'd keep that under the cabinet and you would just use that as a rinse in your hair. And what that would do is that would really close down that cuticle because it's an acidic base. So it would really tighten up that cuticle, add a lot of shine, remove any build up in the hair. Another great thing is adding some baking powder or excuse me, baking soda; something that has sodium bicarbonate in it, baking powder does as well, to your shampoo. And emulsifying it and shampooing your hair. And then you could finish of with the apple cider. That's going to be a lot of clarifying but your hair will be really shiny afterwards. Just regular deep treatments with olive oil, mayonnaise, anything like that, is going to really help with keeping your hair shiny and healthy."
