My name is Bill Rae. I'm with Alumni Financial Services. I've been in the finance and business world, for well over 20 years, and today, we're going to talk about small business grants, and loans, and how to get them. Well, first of all, let me give you a word of warning, if you will. In the grant business, there are many, many scams out there. That's the first thing you need to be aware of, so be careful when you're looking for grants. However, they are available. They're available for start up businesses, they're available for expansion of your current business, so grants are available. Loans are also available. Loans can be had from local banks, loans can be had from friends, family, credit cards, and even 401K, if you have a loan provision. Again, whichever way you're going to pick, to choose to get money for your business, you obviously need to understand, you need to pick a product or service, that you feel you can excel in. Once you have picked that product or service, then you need to understand the market. Scope around, ask questions. Who's your competition? How can you do better than they? How can your competition drive business to you? Once you have a good feel for that, write a good business plan. Make no mistake about it, if it's not written, you're not going to understand how to get there, or more importantly, when you get there. The other piece of advice I always give, is always remember the business that you're in. Don't become an employee of yourself, you're the business owner now. My name is Bill Rae. I'm with Alumni Financial Services, and we're helping you build wealth.
