In my experience, I have never seen or heard of any one who's actually had a case of blood poisoning. Based on getting a tattoo. What I have heard of though, is getting infections based on getting unclean tattoos. Or using unclean needles or an unclean environment. Blood poisoning itself though, can't be attributed to tattooing. Because if it's done in a sterile environment with clean equipment by a trained professional. Chances are, it's not going to happen.
