"This is financial adviser, Patrick Munro, talking about how to shop without a credit card. Many Americans nowadays carry credit cards and use them for discretionary spending and retail shopping. It is possible to shop without a credit card and the best way to do that is of course, bring cash. Bringing cash and and to the merchant is very important as well, because many times, if you're working in a wholesale environment, or perhaps at a flea market or whatever the case may be, cash is king to these merchants and you can offer a cash only price and receive a lower price for the goods or services that you are seeking. How to shop without a credit card is a goal that everyone should try to achieve, although it's important to have a credit card in America for emergencies and discretionary things that do pop up. When you're shopping without a credit card, make sure that you don't carry too much cash with you to make yourself a security risk because then people out there are looking for people that carry large amounts of cash, so always make sure that you carry a reasonable amount with you. If you need more, you can always go to an ATM. This is Patrick Munro talking about how to shop without a credit card."
