My name is Doug Leavy and I'm owner and principle agent of Strategic Insurance Services and I'm going to talk to you today about how much an insurance agent earns. This is a question I get asked very often and like most professions it depends. I would say the basic range you could look anywhere from $30,000 a year up into the high six figures. With our profession the biggest thing is that we get paid a percentage of the written premium. Certainly factors that are going to help increase your overall compensation in this business is the time you have been in the market, the work and dedication you have put into it and above all taking care of your clients. Clients are your best resource and also your biggest factor for your success. Someone once told me that the most successful people in this business focus on taking care of their clients because if you take care of your clients your clients will take care of you. I'm Doug Leavy with Strategic Insurance Services in Clearwater, Florida.
