Hi, my name is Charlotte Skiles. I'm a Clinical Herbalist and Nutrition Consultant with Eat in Peace Wellness Consulting located in Austin, Texas. And today I'm going to talk to you about hair loss and dietary deficiencies. So the main point to recognize hair is that nails and hair are extensions of the skin and in terms of that perspective, they are luxuries for the body. So if you don't have good nutritional status, you basically not going to have pretty hair. It's something that I look at when I do consultations with people is to observe the quality of their hair because it's very evident that there could be a protein deficiency or possibly something going on with the thyroid which would lead me to think about iodine and the trace minerals that maybe lacking in the diet. So that's the main concern there with hair loss and dietary deficiencies is that hair's a luxury and you want to make sure that you eat nutrients foods so that you can have lovely hair.
