"This is John Pinelli, financial representative talking to you today about how to file a disability claim. So you've been disabled and you want to file a claim through your insurance company. The best thing to do is to contact your representative or agent who sold you the policy and consult with them on the best way to file a claim because they will help you assist you in obtaining the proper paperwork needed and may help expedite the process because sometimes the claims can take quite a while. So contact your agent if you have one. If you did go through an online company, you're going to have to do a little bit more investigating and research to file your claim. Typically they're going to ask for forms which would include some sort of medical records, you're going to have to fill out some forms filing the claim and they're going to have to basically verify that you are in fact disabled. So if you do have an agent, you can do this through them and they will help you through this process. If you don't, you will have to do this on your own and it may take a little bit more time and require a little bit more investigation on your part.
