"Hi, I'm Kelli. I'm an aesthetician and makeup artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics, and I'm going to tell you what you need to do in order to train to be a beautician. Basically, what you'll have to do is you'll actually have to go to a cosmetology school or to an aesthetic school, which is... I'm a licensed aesthetician, so what I had to do was actually complete 720 hours of state board approved aesthetic study in aesthetics technology, and then go be licensed through the state board. It varies state to state how many hours that you actually need, and you would have to find that out through your own state board of cosmetology of whatever state you belong to. But another thing that you can do is actually get an apprenticeship. You can go and work in another salon, and some states will allow you to accumulate cosmetology hours for actually going and working at a salon and learning and working under another licensed cosmetologist or aesthetician.
