"Hi, I'm Mark Govan, with ABC Pest Control, in Largo, Florida. You know, people ask me all the time do ants eat moss, because they they see moss with ants in them all the time. Well, today I have brought a piece of moss in with me today. And really, ants do not eat the moss; however, they can make nests inside the moss. And I know everybody living in Florida, or in the deep south has a lot of moss hanging off of their trees, and a lot of times you'll see the children out there, and they'll pull that moss off the tree, and sometimes they may get bit, or they may get an ant or something on them. Well, that's only ants that are using this as a nesting material. So, don't be concerned too much about ants eating the moss, and if you don't like to have the moss around the house; well, can you get rid of it? Yes, you can. If you spray moss with copper copper will kill the moss, and then you won't have to worry about those ants around your house, as well. So, if you do like moss in and around your home or on your trees; well, that's okay to do because moss is a friend to our trees and our plants as well, and it is a living material. So, don't worry about those ants eating the moss, and remember, pests have to have a place to live just like we do."
