"Hi friends, Mark Govan here with ABC Pest Control. And, you know, people want to know, are there different types of fleas? Well, yes, actually there are three basic types of fleas that we do deal with. There's a cat flea, which normally you find on your pet, your pet cats, and dogs. Then there's a dog flea, which the flea actually will live on dogs and cats as well. And, what they call a human flea, which normally you find on dogs, but very, very few of those. Our major flea that we normally deal with is the cat flea, and if you actually look at the little picture under a microscope, or if you happen to have fleas, you can tell a cat flea apart from the dog flea by just a a little bit of more whiskers on the mouthpiece of the actual flea itself, and that's why they end up calling it a cat flea. Now, cat fleas once found on your pet, can, or, whether it be a cat or a dog, can usually be easily controlled by taking that pet to a veterinarian and having the dog or cat dipped, or by using a regular flea control product, such as a flea collar, or even treating in and around your home. Again, vacuuming your home will help eliminate a lot of the adult fleas and the pupa cases that the fleas leave behind. Once you do that, and if you treat outside your home, in and around your shrubbery, that also will help to eliminate fleas from your home. This is Mark Govan, with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida, hoping you have a pest free day."
