Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to fix the system registry. Let's go to our computer. The first thing I'm going to have you do is download a program called RegClean, which was released by MicroSoft. It goes through and fixes any registry problems that they know will cause a problem. Let's open up our Internet Explore, and on Google, just do a search for Download MicroSoft RegClean. This will come back with a list of sites where you can download RegClean. I'm just going to click on the first one. And the majority of sites that you go to will have download sites that you can download it from. Just make sure you're getting the MicroSoft version of it, and nothing else that calls itself RegClean. Now once you have that installed, let's just run it. And it's going to scan through your entire registry for any problems that MicroSoft anticipates, and will allow you to correct them. It might take a few minutes for this to actually run through scanning your entire registry. But once it's finished scanning, it presents you with the option to fix any errors that it knows about. Let's click Fix Errors, and it immediately and very quickly fixes those. And hit Exit. And it generates an Undo file. Now if you reboot your computer and come across any problems, just double click on that Undo file, and it will restore your registry to how it was before. Now, second, I'm going to show you how to use the System Restore, which will restore your computer's registry to an earlier date. Just click the Start button, go to All Programs, let's find Accessories. And then under Accessories we want the System Tools. And click System Restore. Now you have to be in add man on Vista, so just click Continue. And the system restore program will open up. Now I usually go with the recommended restore date, which is usually the last one, but you can also check this little radio button here to go to a different date. So this'll take me back to December 13, 2008. Just click Next, and it's asked you to confirm your restore point, and just click Restore to go through with the restoration. Your computer will reboot, and when it comes back up, your system's registry will be reset to the date shown here. My name's Dave Andrews, and I've just showed you how to fix your computer's registry.
