Hi. My name is Dave Andrews. Today, I'm going to show you how to clean the registry on a computer. What we're going to do to do this with is called Microsoft RegClean. It's a free download. I'm going to show you how to search Google to find it. So let's go to our computer. We just want to pull up our web browser. I'm on Google. We want to search for Microsoft RegClean. This is an older program that Microsoft put out quite some time ago, but it's still a great program for cleaning up your registry. Basically, since it's such an ubiquitous program, you can find it pretty much anywhere. If you just search Google for it, find one of these download sites, and just click on that "download it" button there. I've already got it downloaded. We're going to run RegClean. It looks like a Christmas package. And when it loads up, the very first it's going to do is it's going to scan the registry in your computer for anything that it could clean up, from old programs that have been removed; basically, anything that it already recognizes that it could take out. This could take a little bit of time. Now, after it's scanned through your registry and knows what it could remove, it tells you it's finished checking and it's waiting to fix the errors. Just click "Fix". And it has gone through our registry and removed any old, stale records that it knew it could take out. Now one thing to keep in mind is that it creates for you a backup of everything that it's going to take out. Basically, if you had any kind of problems after running this program, you would just double-click on that registry entry, and it would reload all of these entries back into your registry. My name's Dave Andrews, and I've just showed you hoe to clean up the registry on a computer.
