"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to restore deleted files from a given date. Let's go to the computer. And if I delete a file such as this video of a bear right here, it is basically taken that file and moved it to the recycle bin. That's kind of a holding area for files that I've deleted that I don't want to or have not completely erased from my hard drive. It's also a catchall to where if you accidentally delete a file you can find it there. So let's open up our recycle bin and here's a list of a couple of items, you can see my bear video is right there as well as a previous file. Now in here I have date deleted and to view the date that each of these files were deleted, we need to be in the detail view. Just right click on this whitespace somewhere, go to the view option, we will select details. Now that has allowed that date deleted field to display itself. As you can see, both of these files were deleted on December the 9th, 2008. So if I want to restore those files from December the 9th, 2008, I'll basically select them and then minimize this to where I can kind of see my desktop a little bit and I'm just going to drag them out of the recycle bin and back onto my desktop. Now what I've done is I've selected every file that had the date deleted of September the, or December the 9th of 2008, I've pulled it out of the recycle bin and restored to my desktop. So it's a good idea to not erase files from your recycle bin until you know for sure that you're never going to want to retrieve them because once they're erased out of there, they're basically unretrievable. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just showed you how to restore files from a given date."
