"This is financial adviser Patrick Munro talking about how to prevent identity theft. Preventing identity theft, which has become one of the most prevalent problems in America, is really a course of common sense. When you work with your bills or anything that is confidential in nature that has your social security number or whatever the case may be, make sure you have a paper shredder, and shred any specific documents that could fall into the hands of a hacker or someone that would steal your identity. Make sure you never give out your social security number unless it's to a trusted adviser. And also, make sure that you take all receipts from gas bars, when you're gassing your car up. From ATM machines, as well. Never talk openly in a public place about your financial affairs, and give out critical information. Make sure your computer is focused with a complete firewall suite, and, you know, really could keep a hacker at bay if you're doing your bills online. These are some helpful tips to prevent identity theft. This is financial adviser, Patrick Munro."
