Hi, my name is Reka Morvay. I'm a psychologist, and I'm going to talk to you about understanding the male mind. Men, in general, tend to be concrete thinkers and very much focused on problem-solving and tasks -- individual tasks. They like to focus on one thing at a time, and solve that task before they move onto another task. Another thing that is usually a very male trait is competitiveness. So judging performance and comparing it to somebody else. So men tend to do better in competitive situations than in cooperative situations. Of course, all of these are extreme generalizations, and the variation between individuals can be much greater than between groups. So what you really need to do in order to understand the male mind is to understand the particular male that you are interested in because, obviously, there are great, great differences between individuals and your grandfather is not the same person as your boyfriend. And your boss is not the same person as your softball coach. So in order to understand the other person, your best tack is to try to understand that individual and try to understand how they work because that will give you more useful information than trying to collect these generic bits and pieces of information about men in general.
