"Hi, I'm Zach Katagiri, freelance graphic designer in New York City, and today, we are talking about Photoshop. You may have noticed that the icon or .ico format isn't one of your default Save As options in Photoshop. In this video, I will show you the necessary steps you must take if you want to be able to create an ico file. The first thing you need to do is find a place where you can download it online. So go to your favorite Web browser and type in something like free ico Photoshop. And it looks like this has it right there. Looking for the ico format, and download the latest version. And after you unzip the file, there'll be the ico format, and there'll be a Read Me, so make sure to open up the Read Me. And this will give you some directions on how to install it. And once you've put your format file in the right folder, then you should shut down Photoshop and re-open it. And now, you should be able to save things with the ico format. So I'm going to open up a file that I want to make into an ico. I'll go to image, and I'm going to double-check the image size. Ico files can't be any bigger than 256 by 256 pixels. It doesn't necessarily have to be a square, but any one dimension, either the height or the width, can't be bigger than 256. On this image, we're fine. Click okay. And in File, I'm going to choose Save As. And under Format, I can just save it now as an ico, and hit save. And standard ico is fine. There you go. Now you can save images with the icon format."
