"Hi, I'm Donna Barnes. I'm a life and dating coach, and owner of NY Dating Coach here in New York City. In this clip, we'll talk about what does an engagement ring mean. And of course, the obvious means that you're going to get...you're engaged -- you're going to get married. But what the real true meaning is is that you're planning a life together, and it's the beginning of a period of time where you're going to plan your wedding and, really, you're going to make sure that this feels right. It's kind of a little trial for your wedding when you have that engagement ring on your finger and you can start getting used to the fact that you've pledged yourself to this man and she's pledged herself to you. So if it really feels right, then you know you're doing the right thing. But if you have any kind of feelings in any way whatsoever that it's not right, then this is a trial. It's an engagement. It's not a marriage yet, and it's much easier to call off an engagement than it is to get a divorce. So use this as a trial period for your marriage. This is Donna Barnes from New York City."
