"Hi, I'm Noah and today we're going to show you how you can find someone in the Navy using your computer. Now, if you've served in the Navy in the past and want to find somebody who you served with and have completely lost touch with, this will hopefully help you find that person. Or simply if you have distant family in the Navy who you'd like to find, this could help as well. You should be able to find somebody who's currently serving in the Navy quite easily and even people who have served a long time ago through public records and other ways. So, we'll show you how you can search for these people from the simplest way to the most desperate. You can start by using all kinds of online search engines like gisearch.com and searching through the National Archives or writing to the National Archives to request information and if that doesn't work out how you can contact a private investigator to help you get the job done. When searching for somebody who is or was in the Navy, the U.S. National Archives are usually a good place to start. You can access their website at www.archives.gov. Then slash St. Louis, which is the location of their archive center. If you select military personnel records you'll be able to find all the contact information so you can request information about somebody who is or was in the military and specifically in the Navy. The good thing about this is that you don't need to be related to the person or have confidential information about them to request this type of information. Now, if this doesn't yield any results, another good place to look is gisearch.com. This is an independent site dedicated specifically for people trying to find other people in the military. And if you click on search you'll be able to search for anybody at any installation. For example, let's try searching for somebody named Martin Bell on the USS Nimitz. As it turns out there are no such people who served or are serving on the USS Nimitz, but if we were searching for a real person and knew on what ship or what camp they had served, then we would be able to find them through this site."
