Hi this is Jessica Claire with New York Dating Coach in New York City. In this clip we are going to talk about how to take a break in a relationship. This is a very difficult thing to do and I think if the two people in the relationship discuss this and choose that this is the right thing to do both people need to be prepared for this to be an actual end to the relationship. Taking a break is the kind of thing that implies that something isn't quite right and it is a time for both parties to make a decision on whether to continue or go back from this break. You can't assume that you are going to take a week apart or a month apart and come back and everything is going to be hunky dory. Be prepared to take that month, come back, and have a lot of things to discuss. If you were gone for a month and you took a lot of time to think and you decide it is not necessarily the thing to go back to, be prepared for that to happen. Also I think that the most positive relationship is the kind where two people can ask each other for the things that they need. If you really love someone and they ask you for time away you have to accept and give them that knowing that there is a possibility for failure in the end. This is Jessica Claire in New York City.
