"Hello I am Patti German a licensed marriage and family therapist in New York City. In this clip we are going to talk about how to cope with a long distance relationship. Long distance relationships can be very, very difficult. They also can be very, very wonderful. Depending on your attitude. Of course the first thing to focus on is how long is a period of time that you are going to be in a long distance relationship. But once you know that it's just let's say a short period of time, the best way to cope with it and to deal with it is to focus on constant communication. Whether that be through texting, through emailing, through phone calls or even good old fashioned letter writing. Keep a relationship going. I think it's very important to have a constant communication where you relate what your day was about. Where you went, things you've been thinking, what you are hoping to happen. When you see each other again, but it's very, very important to share the episodes of your life. This is Patti German in New York City."
