"And now the next step is position my shifter. As you can see I have a wide range of areas where I could put the shifter if I wanted to I could move my brake lever in and put the shifter in board even. I preferable like to have my shifter up and down so the easiest lever to grab is the down shift lever instead of the down shift lever. Some people run it so the up shift lever is easier to grab. What I'm going to do is take my 5 millimeter wrench and I'm going to use the ball end we would you see how it got a 3 sided head which makes it easier in stead of this square end. Lightly tighten it up in the ball end cause it is just easier to get in with then I'm going to do my final tighten with the normal allen key end. Sometimes when you are using a different brand of brake lever and shifter is avid and sram are all part of the same company so there stuff is really designed to be able to work together. You might have to figure out where you want your brake lever and then move it out of the way and the arrange your shifter to go with it. But that is reinstalling the controls on your bike, make sure everything is tight and have a good ride. "
