Using Background Effects in Photoshop

"Hi, I'm Gary for Expert Village. Let's apply another effect to the background image. And what we're going to do is we're going to make this, the texture that we created with the paintbrush, we're going to turn it into more of a--what's called a "clouds" effect. So the way to do that is to go up top and click on filter, and then we go over to our render option, and that opens up a drop-down menu, and we click on clouds. And now we see that the image took the background color, and it combined it with the texture of our paintbrush, where we see there are some darker spots over here, and lighter spots over here, and it basically combined it and created this "clouds" effect. And that's basically going to be now the background of our business card. And we can also see that if you don't like this particular effect--now, my final business card is going to be for a wedding type of video production, so I wanted more of a soft effect, because I'm going to be using a picture from a wedding. But if you wanted to get a little bit more of a, let's say more of a something that kind of more action, or a little bit more exciting, there is a whole bunch of effects over here that you can use, and all of these effects will basically give you, just totally different--a different look to your business card, and maybe kind of like, highlight the personality of your business card that you want to create from it, so it's very important to use these filters to really create the look that you want, and the image that you want when people see your business card. Here for example, in textures, just this menu alone has so many different options, like stained glass. And we see that it's going to create, like a stained glass effect, with like a lighter type of color coming through, and there's just really a whole bunch of different types of effects that you can use here, and it really creates--depending on what type of business that you're trying to represent--it really can help you create a really nice image on your business card."
